Millennium Science Fiction & Fantasy

Highly recommended

Prince Conar McGregor is happily married to Liza, though his life is in constant danger. Despite the danger which surrounds him, he is deliriously in love and happy. While he takes these threats seriously, he feels confident in his safety. He is unaware that he is under constant surveillance from those that wish the Prince Regent's downfall.Prince Conar's enemies are all around him and he doesn't know who is friend or foe. While the Prince is well aware of the danger, his confidence is that of a man of his young years. A sense of cautious invincibility abounds.

When he witnesses a cryptic conversation between his wife and a beautiful woman, he finds himself drawn to the stranger in ways that threatens to strain his marriage. The woman bewitches him with sultry looks and an easy sexuality. She tempts Conar in ways that threaten his powers of restraint. When she finally backs off, leaving him with the most cryptic of comments, the disturbing encounter leaves him with many questions and no answers.

The WindSeeker is a most welcome entry into the WindLegends Saga of books. Compelling and gripping, Ms. Combo is a welcome voice in ebooks. She presents a male both strong and vulnerable and tackles some controversial issues with a deft hand. While Windseeker can be read as a stand-alone book, the reader is advised by this reviewer to read WindKeeper first, as the full scope of the story adds to the reading experience. While some of the imagery may be a little too explicit for the delicate reader, this book is well worth your while.

I m going to blame you, Charlotte Boyett-Compo, for all my health woes of the past few days. I have never been filled with such anxiety, heart palpitations, frayed nerves, inability to concentrate on my daily life as I have while reading Windseeker! And THEN you didn t let me finally relax at the end! The hint of things to come in the next sequel left me with no relief in sight. During my wait for Book III, I will surely be in need of a long vacation at an institution for the anxiety-ridden. So make it quick on releasing the next installment, will ya?

As ever, I am astounded by Boyett-Compo s powerful, flowing language that casts you into another time and place--into a purely magical world where one s actions are decisive and thorough, where one s emotions are intense and passionate. If you enjoy having your preconceptions jarred and your senses jostled--more like pelted around like large hail landing on a concrete pavement--and hoping against hope that love--though utterly tormenting as it is in this story--will prevail, then have I got a recommendation for you: ....order Windseeker now!!

Very highly recommended

Once again Boyett-Compo weaves a fascinating tale of love, betrayal and passion; one that holds the reader rapt, praying for a glorious hero's survival and mourning the damage inflicted by evil. As Boyett-Compo's Wind Legends saga continues to develop its mythos, the extraordinary power of the tale leaves the reader enthralled, appalled, and desperate for more. Combining the Brotherhood of the Dominion with its counter-group, the Sisters of the Multitude, Boyett-Compo delivers richly varied characters of depth and power. I for one look forward to learning more of the mysterious sisters and of the gifts Liza keeps hidden. Hurry, Charlee, I can't wait for book three!

As a reader, I found I could not put this book down once I started to read it. It is a book that moves along at a fast pace and the action never stops. As I read the book, it was like catching up with old friends; there were many characters that were back in this book that I first became acquainted with while reading the WindKeeper. It warmed this reader's heart to see them all back. Some violent situations and subject matter may disturb sensitive readers. However, I found it to be a very excellent second book and I cannot wait to read the third book in this very exciting saga.

"The Windseeker" is book number two in Boyett-Compo's WindLegends Saga. If you loved book one, you'll flip over book two!

(She) manages to paint vivid imagery with strong, flowing words that pull the reader in and cast a spell until the last page is turned.

In the stunning sequel to the Windkeeper, Ms. Boyett-Compo once again takes us on an emotional rollercoaster. Filled with the characters we've come to love and surprises, the Windseeker is a definite keeper. Just a small note, this novel contains scenes which may upset some readers. However, this is still not a novel to be missed.

Windseeker: As I read each new book of Charlotte Boyett-Compo s I find it more interesting than the last. Each time I think I have found my favorite, I find another with each new release. Windseeker was an excellent continuation to the series. It drew me in and kept me riveted to my computer monitor to the end.

4 ½ Thumbs Up

This book was so intense and so dark that I was in agony reading it. I breathed a sigh of relief upon finishing it.

In all honesty, I cannot say that I enjoyed this book but I will say that I felt compelled to read it to the very end. I avidly look forward to the next book of the series.

Writer's Exchange

4 Stars

With horrendous torture, sexually-charged love scenes and suspenseful plot this book will throw you from the heights of emotion to the depths of despair. The author's incredible writing will make you identify with the characters, which, with this book, is a dangerous thing to do.

The Romance Journal

Each book in the WindLegends Saga draws the reader in deeper to the world that Ms. Boyett-Compo creates so convincingly. The "good" and "evil" themes run through this book with characters so multi-faceted that I was even feeling sympathy for some thoroughly awful villains. Conar and Liza remain true to their characters in the earlier book.

As I have been fortunate enough to read the first installment, this one picked up the story quite easily. I do wonder if someone reading WindSeeker first could get the same enjoyment out of it, but various characters' reminiscences cover most of the back-story.

The focus on new characters, such as Brelan Saur, leads to speculation about his future role in this series. Though the ending is what I'd expect from a romance book, the foreshadowing of further trouble to come leaves me speculating on what is to come in the third installment, WindWeeper.

WindSeeker is a brilliant continuation to Conar and Liza's story, which leaves the reader wanting more!

Scribes World Reviews

Charlotte Boyett-Compo does it again with WindSeeker. In book 2 of this dark fantasy series, Conar suffers all kinds of nastiness because of Kaileel and the Domination. Some of it is very graphic, yet the extent of his suffering only serves to bring you closer to the character--to make you care even more. The world-building is extensive--everything you'd expect from epic fantasy, and Ms. Compo's writing skills are exceptional. There's even a deep romantic sub-plot to offer romance lovers too. While this isn't for the feint of heart or weak of stomach, those who can handle it will find WindSeeker and all the WindLegend books worth a read. As a matter of fact, this book was so entrancing that I had to immediately start the next story. Fortunately, I had it handy. :) Keep 'em coming, Ms. Compo; I'm ready!

Murder List

Ms. Compo has done it again.

I'm eager to move forward and continue the powerful struggle I can sense ahead of Conar and Liza. Their love for each other, and their fight against the Brotherhood as created a story of unimagined strength, purpose and love. Conar will become your greatest hero, and a man both human, and yet stronger than any you could ever know.

Inscriptions Magazine

The content of "The Windseeker" was sometimes disturbing, including sexual violence, but it was handled in a suitable manner. The pace of the story was consistent throughout, never once resting enough to make a reader want to stop, with good attention to details of place and person. Overall, Charlotte Boyett-Compo weaves an engaging, but very dark, fantasy tale.

Murder List

">Charlotte Boyett-Compo will show you what evil truly looks like in the WINDSEEKER. And you will see first hand the depths a pure and true love will go.

I fell in love with Ms. Compo's characters in the Wind Legends Saga from book one. The story line is actually getting stronger the further through the series I get and each character is getting more complex and fulfilling to me as a reader. The pain and torment that Conar goes through to save Liza had my stomach tight with true pain and despair. Ms. Compo has a magnificent way with words and wonderful gift of touching the readers heart. This is the second book I've read by her that made me literally cry for her character.

I can't recommend the WINDSEEKER enough. Pick up this stunning saga and see for yourself. You won't be disappointed!

The Eternal Night

8/10

Within WindSeeker, Charlotte Boyett-Compo gives us a greater insight into the horrific experiences that Conar was subjected to at the hands of Kaileel Tohre and Tolkan Coure at the monastery as a child. Charlotte manages to outline the torture with enough description to leave the reader in no doubt as to the exact nature of the events without resorting to unnecessary levels of detail. The acts performed are of a particularly degrading nature that could upset some readers. This is truly a fantasy story for grown-ups!

Windseeker picks up beautifully where Windkeeper left off. Charlotte Boyett-Compo does a wonderful job making her char- acters rich and lovable. I really enjoy her complicated plot, and the twists the story takes you in. I am right there, in the story; I can picture everything with the vivid language and style of the story. This saga is addictive. You're left craving and wanting more!

Timeless Tales

If you like dark fantasy books, you will love this one! There are many twists and turns to follow and this is only the second book in a ten book series. If you prefer romance books, I would not recommend you pick up this one. This is not a "romance" book-- there is extreme violence against women, especially the heroine. The author has written a book that leaves an indelible memory. You will want to read the next book in the series to see what happens to all the characters.

RATED R for dark fantasy scenes and violence. No one under the age of 17 should read this series! Now that I have stated that, if you like your fantasy novels to be "anything goes", then this author should be on the top of your Favorites list. I never knew what would happen next and often it was the worst thing possible. It kept me on the edge of my seat from the beginning until the end and hungry for the next book! True Dark Fantasy gets no better than this!

In this second book in the saga of Conar and Liza will take us farther into the realm of the Priesthood of the Domination. You will learn just how evil a man Kaileel really is and how far he is willing to go to get Conar in his power. I have been completely drawn into this story. I can’t wait to get book 3 and find out what happens next. This story keeps the reader on the edge of their seats waiting to see what becomes of our lovers. How much more can Conar and Liza stand? Charlotte Boyett-Compo stories are filled with energy and life and never fail to capture my imagination. I recommend this as well as her other books in the Windlegends saga.

Paranormal Romance Reviews

The second tale in the “WindLegends” saga is a fantastic fantasy that as with the first tale, WINDKEEPER, the story line is character driven with an intriguing triangle. Liza and Kaileel “compete” for the “affection” of Conar while Galen wants him dead as he covets his sibling’s relationships with the two of them. It is the love-hate that Kaileel and the hate that Galen bring to the plot that turns WINDSEEKER into a unique fabulous tale that can stand alone, but it would behoove the audience to start with the excellent WINDKEEPER to understand the fab four even better.

This is one awesome adventure that will take your breath away from the very first page. Excellent characters and important secondary characters all play very intriguing roles, as this epic continues. Continuous action and spellbinding adventure are only a couple of the things that captures and keeps your attention. Exceptional dialogue and some very spicy love scenes are another. This is the second book in this series, but stands alone easily, and this reader cannot wait for the next book

ECataromance Sensual

4.5 Stars

Charlotte Boyett-Compo continues her WindLegends Saga. Just when Conar believes he has everything he always wanted and he is sure no one was going to hurt him again, his life is turned upside down. This story is filled with brutal action that moves a mile a second. The sex sizzles off the page, but it is a minor part of this story. Conar has secrets from his childhood that come out in this book. Lisa and Conar must use their magic to combat the evil practiced by the Brotherhood. When the story ended I couldn't believe Ms. Boyett-Compo ended on a cliffhanger! The reader will be rushing to pick up the next book in this series.

WINDSEEKER is an extraordinarily lengthy and detailed work of high fantasy. It is a long read, but well worth the while for readers interested in this type of fantasy. I am reminded, in its detail, of Robert Jordan's The Wheel of Time series.
