NightWind's hero, Syntian Cree, is alluring, seductive, and down right chilling. The very talented Charlotte Boyett-Compo has created a demon-riveted tale that will keep you rooted to your seat, turning pages until the wee hours of the morning right to its heart-wrenching conclusion.

This is an excellent book, of the kind that grabs hold of your heart and mind and won't let go until the last page is turned, and even then, leaves deep questions behind. It is not for the squeamish, but those able to stomach it will find it a rich and rewarding erotic romantic horror novel.

Blending horror and romance with masterful skill, Charlotte Boyett-Compo weaves a tapestry of witchcraft and love, passion and revenge, horror and beauty that is hard to forget. RAVEN'S REVIEWS
....I would most highly recommend it to lovers of darker Lackey or McCaffrey romances, though anyone who likes popular conceptions of witchcraft may also enjoy it. My favorite part of Nightwind was Lauren herself: her strength and believability as a character formed the core of the book, forcing me to re-examine my own preconceptions about what makes a great fantasy hero. For Boyett-Compo, the strength of a person lies in their capacity for love, and that is where Lauren triumphs. We would all do well to learn from her.

Don't let the first few pages fool you. Though an unusual and compelling love story, NightWind is not a Romance. It is a Dark Fantasy that explores both obsessive love and the seductive power of evil. Charlotte Boyette-Compo has created a believable and frightening world. Her descriptions of Milton Florida, Lauren's home town, are vivid and sensual, and her prose is as seductive as her hero.

Can you believe we just can't decide how many bonbons!!
This book really stretches the boundaries of a Romance novel. The male main character, (hardly a hero) is a demon who kills in a most horrible manner (talk about a lethal weapon!) anyone who belittles the heroine. The Heroine, if she can be called that, is a middle aged spinster who still takes abuse from her mother. When Syntian the demon starts paying attention to her, she of course falls hard for him. No one had ever been nice to her before. Throughout the book, we kept wondering how the author was going to reconcile Lauren's basically doormat but decent personality with all the demonic activity her suitor was conjuring up. I'm still not sure if the ending was satisfying but it sure didn't leave any loose ends, and every character has a surprise for the reader. Nothing is as it seems!

US Times
NIGHTWIND by Charlee Boyett-Compo is an interesting mix of Horror/Fantasy/Romance. Three ingredients that are bound to make for a fun read. From the opening paragraphs of NIGHTWIND ? which has a wonderfully otherworldly feeling ? to the last, I was completely entertained. My favorite part of this story is the heroine. Wall-flowerish, retiring and even decidedly mousy, Boyette-Compo gives us a woman finding strength she never knew she had coming into her own power. And when I say ?POWER? I mean just that. The closing of the book is filled with What Goes Around Comes Around. There?s no proverbial riding on the coattails of a man here.

5 Stars: Outstanding, A definite must read
If I could give this review more than 5 stars I would. This book has surpassed all of the other books I have read by Ms. Boyett-Compo. To say it is spellbinding, fantastic and outstanding would still not be saying enough. If you haven?t read this book yet, you are missing a true treasure.
Syntian Cree, a NightWind demon has come back to Earth. The lonely and desolate cry of a woman has beckoned him once again. This time he knew it was different, she was different than all the others before her. He was lost to her even before he arrived; she would be his and his alone.
This begins a story of love and heartbreak, betrayal and deceit. The results will stun and shock you, leaving you speechless and wanting more, all at the same moment.

Paranormal Romance Reviews
This book was very well written. It's labeled as a paranormal horror/romance, but don't expect your typical HEA ending. Mrs. Boyett-Compo definitely has a career ahead of her in writing, if this book says anything! I've heard her other romances have the normal HEA ending, which I'm glad for because she's a wonderful writer. Don't get me wrong, the book was very good, but the twist at the end just wasn't to my liking.
The book features demonology, which was something of a turnoff to me. Falling in love with a demon (a Nightwind) isn't exactly my cup of tea. However, it was a very good paranormal read, and if you love science fiction/paranormals this is definitely up your alley!

Fantasy, Folklore and Fairytales
Boyett-Compo slowly involves us with the characters as she takes us through the winding streets of a small Florida Town. We become emotionally involved with each and every person we meet. We may love them or hate them but we cannot leave them. The twist at the end is chilling and leaves us wanting revenge.
NightWind is a must read for any fantasy romance fans. Boyett-Compo takes us on another wonderful journey into a dark fantasy world. Spring breezes are saying there is another tale in the saga of the NightWind coming soon. I am eager to exact my revenge.
Do you know what the NightWind is bringing you tonight? Be careful, as it may be what you wished for.
My rating is Eight Willow Wands waving from the Willow Tree. A Must Read.

Very Highly Recommended
The first novel in the WindDemon Trilogy, NIGHTWIND Combines elements of the paranormal, including demonology, witchcraft, and the supernatural. Indeed, Boyett-Compo captures the very essence of what it is to be isolated, and the amazing transformative power of love and faith in one's self. NIGHTWIND is one of those gripping novels that shocks, horrifies, and mesmerizes the reader. The highly developed characters, the mythology that provides the foundation of the tale, and the deft plot twists and turns lead to a satisfying, though shocking, conclusion. This novel is a must read.

Rating = 9 out of 10
This horror story is well written, frightening, yet chillingly believable.
Charlotte hasn't lost the ability to make us side with the hero, even if he is Satan's spawn. She will have you perversely barracking for the demon, despite his horrendous deeds. His pure motives (he falls in love with Lauren) redeems him from total bestiality, allowing us to forgive his brutal, and violent acts of revenge.
I would not recommend reading this book after dark, but would rather suggest that you set aside a full day to become totally absorbed in this chilling, deadly story of a paranormal vendetta.

This is an excellent book. Trying to review it is like trying to review a Stephen King classic. I feel very out of my league. Mrs. Compo has done an outstanding job on this one.
NightWind drags out the deepest seated fears and feelings from a womans heart, the ones that have never seen the light of day, and turns them inside out, for the world to see. It is impossible not to feel the sorrow and pain of Syntian Cree and Lauren Fowler. You don't know who to feel the most for. This book will make you want to throw yourself at the next gorgeous stranger you meet, and beg him to give you another chance. Read the book and you will understand what I mean.

This is a well crafted story and it's obvious that Charlotte Boyett-Compo has done this sort of thing before. The plot is well paced and structured. There is always some element of trouble brewing for the heroine, pushing the reader on to the next chapter. Its linear unfolding of events and graphic scenes would make it work well as a screen play. Background information on the characters is inserted deftly with short narrative summary instead of story-stopping flashbacks. Not a pretty story, it's actually gets rather ghastly and gory, as Lauren moves on to her real destiny, with romance on the back, albeit hot, burner.

The Eternal Night
This is a well-written horror romance with moments of erotica ? an odd combination in anyone's opinion! The story is one of a lonely spinster who finds she has caught the eye (and the heart) of a mysterious and handsome stranger. Almost immediately other women in the town start to be murdered in a rather unusual manner.
The story has moments of demonology, witchcraft and emotional manipulation and moves along at a reasonable pace towards a surprising conclusion.
This book is not for anyone easily offended by fairly graphic sex-scenes but I thoroughly enjoyed it!

4.5 Roses
With Nightwind, Charlotte Boyett-Compo has created a very intense reading experience. Ms Compo has a true gift of writing in a way that not only tells her story but makes the reader "feel" what the characters are feeling.
With her carefully chosen words, Ms Compo has the ability to make the reader feel as if they are living the story rather than just reading it. This is a sink your teeth in and come along for the ride type book. The book draws you in for a truly unique reading experience.
I am curious to read some of Ms Compo's other works to see if they have the same type of emotional impact on the reader. This was a very well crafted book that I won't soon forget.

4.5 Stars
Ms. Compo has wielded her pen in a stroke of artistry and imagination as she wrote this sensual, impacting novel. Syntian is evil unbound, gentleness untold, a lover of strength, of purpose, and avenging monster who will strike out in fury and in agony for the wrongs done to the one he calls beloved.
Four and a half stars for this wonderful novel, and the sensuous creature her unbound imagination has brought to the pages NightWind. With exacting creative perfection Ms. Compo has written a novel unlike all others. A demon whose heart reaches out, finding peace and joy in the arms of the woman he has found. A woman, gentle and graceful, whose joy in her lover is matched only by her pain and ragged fury when the truth is revealed.
The carefully mastered words will make you ache for the NightWind, and yet tremble in fear at the thought of his fury. Definite must read.

THE ROMANCE STUDIO
5 Hearts
This story took me totally by surprise. My feelings kept changing toward the hero as the story revealed its self. I really believe Syntian Cree is one of the most tortured creatures I've been introduced to in romance or horror tales. I feel that Syn had two sides to him. One side a demon and the other a lover. I will certainly get books 2, Demon Wind and 3, Bale Wind of this trilogy and see what is in store for Syntian and Lauren. Will Syn get a chance at happiness? What true facts about Lauren's family come to light?
Lauren receives help from the one person she never believed would help her. This book will most defiantly get your attention. Ms. Compo's ability to write and spin tales just keeps getting better. I've taken a big bite out of this juicy story and can hardly wait for book 2. Enjoy!

This was an excellent book, easy to read. It keeps your attention
from beginning to end. Be prepared for a lot of sexual encounters, some of which are brutal. But the author doesn’t get too
graphic, so it shouldn’t be offensive. Both of the main characters go through a lot of changes, and the ending is quite
surprising. I look forward to reading the second story in this
erotic and exciting trilogy.

This is an exciting paranormal romance starring two delightful star-crossed lovers and a selfish villainous soul using their love against them. The support cast has a mob mentality when it comes to Lauren so when Synthian retaliates, he surprisingly will receive accolades from the audience for protecting his woman. Readers will enjoy this stupendous smooth synthesizing of The Ugly Duckling with My Demon Lover that displays the skill of Charlotte Boyett Compo as a top rate author.

This is a wonderful tale full of suspense, mystery and horror ~ a riveting read from beginning to end. Charlotte Boyett-Compo’s style of writing is one of pure delight; it is obvious she is an experienced writer who knows how to thrill. Her character descriptions are great. I felt sorry for Lauren Fowler and her inability to stand up for herself against her work colleagues and overbearing mother, Maxine. And Syn really does make you go weak at the knees, no wonder every woman wants him. Take it from me, Mrs Hellstrom the bookstore owner and Syn, have an intriguing ‘business’ relationship, which devastates Lauren when she finds out. Charlotte Boyett-Compo makes weaving a good storyline with incredible characters look so easy! She sets the scene, adds the characters and blends in a plot full of subplots, and the outcome is superb. HellWind is a romance-based horror series that I would thoroughly recommend. There’s lots of lust, plenty of thrust, making reading this book an absolute must! Need I say anymore? Better stop, before I say too much. Wouldn’t want to give all Charlotte's surprises away!

Charlotte Boyett-Compo has managed to write a dark, sensual tale that is very appealing. Readers will find that Syntian Cree is a very interesting character. The things that he does to avenge Lauren are certainly out of the ordinary, dark and scary. It was interesting to read how the tables turned on him. His world crumbled while Lauren’s shined brighter than ever. NightWind is quite a lengthy story. It will take a dedicated reader to sit down and stay with the story from beginning to end. The story certainly has a great deal of eye-catching, eye-popping moments that will definitely keep the reader flipping from page to page. I recommend that readers pick up this story and read Charlotte Boyett-Compo’s work.

Nightwind just kept me reading. The storyline is scintillating and more than a little scary. We feel for Lauren's pain and can almost accept what Syntian does in the name of love. The story is brilliantly written.

This might sound like a romance, but it's not. This is a dark, haunting story like none other I've read. Demons, witchcraft, and murders abound. You will find it very easy to get lost in this story as the characters pull at your emotions, whether it be sympathy or hate you feel, you will feel something. There are parts that might be disturbing to some, including rape scenes. The ending is not one that I expected and I'm still trying to decide if I agree with Lauren's actions. NightWind is a long story, so make sure you set aside a large chunk of time for reading because this is one book you won't want to put down until you finish.
