Keeping in mind that this is the first in a two-book saga, this was an extremely emotional story to read. I spent most of the book crying because these two lovers had such a hard time. Sean was such a strong boy that was turned into a stronger man. Bronwyn was not the spoiled brat she could’ve been. She went against what her parents said to follow her heart. The way her parents reacted was abominable. I read that part and had to talk to my friend who had already read this book…how could they do that? The way that Ms. Boyett-Compo pulled you into the story and made you feel for the characters is what makes this book one of the most powerful books I have read. BlackWind: Sean and Bronwyn is also the first book by Charlotte Boyett-Compo that I’ve read. I now own almost all of her books and cannot wait to read them. This is a brutally poignant, breathtaking story of young love manipulated by hate, greed, and domination. Your emotions are sent on a roller coaster ride from start to finish. BLACKWIND: SEAN & BRONWYN by Ms. Boyett-Compo is a tragic tale of true love set set in contemporary times that has all the odds stacked against it. This reader truly enjoyed watching their love deepen and mature as they did. BLACKWIND: SEAN & BRONWYN has a wonderful supporting cast where the ones that you should be able to trust such as parents can become villains at times and the characters that are evil by definition such as the NightWind are helpful and can be depended on at times. The scenery of Ireland where Ms. Boyett-Compo takes her readers is so graciously described that this reviewer felt that she was actually there for a visit. BLACKWIND: SEAN & BRONWYN is truly an enjoyable book that this reviewer recommends for any lover of paranormal romance or the Reapers. This is surely one of Ms Boyett-Compo's most powerful books. A story of young love thwarted by hatred, two innocent lives manipulated by adults with their own agenda, this will tug at your emotions. Sean and Bronwyn are two immensely strong characters driven by their love for one another despite the obstacles placed in their path. A salutary tale of what hatred and suspicion can do to even the mildest and most well-meaning individual, this is an outstanding example of its genre. Ms. Boyett-Compo captures your interest with an original tale of love and horror. She has a talent of drawing a picture for the reader and causes the reader to crave more. I couldn’t put this book down and look forward to reading her next book. This story will satisfy all genres with horror, science-fiction, and romance. Charlotte Boyett-Compo once again does what she does best and tells the tale of two tortured lovers and a love meant to be. And yes, our beloved Reapers do make an appearance in this tale, although in the second half of the book. This adds quite a twist to the story as Sean as forced into situations and acts he does not want to do, but must in order to keep Bronwyn safe. One thing about all of Charlotte Boyett-Compo's books, I always find myself pulled into the story immediately and the action keeps going right up until the last page. Sean and Bronwyn's story is a brutally honest, emotional tour de force that grabs you with the first page and leaves you begging for more. A story of young love challenged by fate, greed and manipulation. I’m a Boyett-Compo fan and have enjoyed many of her books but this left me stunned. Readers are in for a treat as they become totally immersed in the world that Boyett-Compo has created. Filled with twists, turns and a cliff hanger ending, Sean and Bronwyn's story keeps readers on the edge of their sets with anticipation.
